We pride ourselves on the excellent fresh cuisine being served, we try to always source locally sourced and organic products, having worked overseas for a number of years my style of cooking has been influenced by Mediterranean cuisine mostly Italian and French. But I do like Pacific fusion, in other words, mixing up Asian & Pacific flavors with our local sea food and produce, which I think works really well. We usually get fresh kai moana (seafood) in the bay on our trips and enjoy incorporating this in our daily menu, this however is always weather, tide, time and Neptune dependent!
The Bay of Islands region has some really special boutique cheeses, meat products and vegetables, this makes for great seasonal themed meals and an ever changing choice. Whether its an antipasta platter to start, with plenty of local cheeses, marinated mussels, salami, chorizo, smoked fish, homemade dips, pickles and chutneys, fresh artesian breads or the traditional kiwi BBQ cooked in the cockpit featuring organic free range properly aged steak, sausages, kebabs and chicken cooked to your liking, together with a selection of salads and accompaniments.
We are happy to cook or smoke any Kai moana collected. Vegetarians are catered for with an interesting array of vege kebabs and burgers. (we can also cater for different diet needs such as macrobiotic, allergies, halal etc given a little time). And lovely fresh desserts to follow, caps off a lovely day out in the bay.
